Legal Counsel

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Legal Counsel to join a leading insurance business, where you will be part of a tight-knit team who value collaboration and cohesion. This role will support across the business by providing legal assistance and advice on a broad range of commercial, technology, and intellectual property matters. Their office is based in Central London with hybrid work arrangements (2 days in the office), and plenty of in-office perks on offer.

Reporting to the Deputy Head of Legal, key responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing, negotiating and drafting a broad range of commercial agreements including T&Cs, supplier agreements, distribution agreements, and technology contracts.
• Provide advice relating to marketing, sponsorship and brand-related matters. Support in advising on procurement, product distribution and AI matters.
• Providing clear, practical and robust advice which facilitates business needs whilst mitigating key risks and challenges.
• Working collaboratively and proactively with other business areas to ensure best practices across the organisation.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and attributes:

• Qualified lawyer with 2-3 years’ PQE gained in either a private practice or in-house environment (however all candidates will be considered on merit).
• Prior experience in-house within an organisation or with secondment experience will be favourable.
• Strong knowledge of contract law is essential, experience with marketing and AI is desirable.
• Ability to demonstrate a positive commercial and solutions-focused approach in dealing with a variety of legal issues.
• Strong analytical and technical drafting abilities with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentation)
• Confident and calm under pressure, adaptive and resilient to changes, with a positive can-do attitude.
