What You'll Do:

As a Finance Process Consultant based in London, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the global finance community by providing expert advice on policy matters and process optimisation. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve responding to user queries via ServiceNow or directly from offices around the world, maintaining data integrity within key financial systems such as SAP4 Hana and SAP R/3, documenting best practices for inclusion in manuals, preparing training materials for staff development initiatives, managing authorisation workflows in compliance with policy standards, conducting regular system checks for error resolution, collaborating closely with technology teams on change requests for system improvements, supporting senior colleagues on strategic projects including solution testing and user training sessions. Success in this role requires an ability to balance multiple priorities while fostering strong relationships across departments; your attention to detail combined with your willingness to invest time into researching innovative solutions will ensure you contribute meaningfully towards enhancing operational efficiency.

* Provide comprehensive support and guidance on finance policy and process matters to users worldwide, ensuring clarity in the use of SAP4 Hana and SAP R/3 systems.

* Respond promptly to calls logged in ServiceNow and ad-hoc queries from offices, offering practical advice and resolving system errors efficiently.

* Document policies and processes for inclusion in the Finance manual, assist in preparing training materials, and deliver training sessions to communicate changes effectively.

* Maintain matter management systems both within and outside SAP platforms, overseeing tasks such as matter opening, time recording, billing, debt collection, and WIP management.

* Approve and progress authorisations and access requests in line with finance policy while ensuring appropriate segregation of duties through periodic reviews with managers and auditors.

* Perform regular checks of system error logs, liaising with end users and other functions (HR, ISS) to resolve issues swiftly and escalate when necessary.

* Prepare change request documentation for technical improvements, collaborate with Technology teams to implement changes, test enhancements before release, and communicate updates to local offices.

* Support senior colleagues on strategic projects by testing new solutions and assisting with user training during business-as-usual activities.

* Ensure all requests are responded to in a timely manner with thorough testing of changes prior to implementation.

* Contribute actively to the continuous improvement of finance processes by investing time in research and proposing new ideas.

What You’ll Bring:

To excel as a Finance Process Consultant you will bring proven experience gained within finance roles at professional services firms where you have developed expertise across various matter management areas such as legal billing or eBilling support. Your proficiency with SAP4 Hana or SAP R/3 will enable you to navigate complex system tasks confidently while leveraging advanced Microsoft Excel skills for robust data analysis. You will demonstrate an appreciation for the unique risks faced by international finance teams alongside an unwavering commitment to delivering dependable service even under demanding circumstances. Your interpersonal abilities will shine through your polite interactions with colleagues globally; your attention to detail ensures consistent accuracy whether managing authorisations or preparing documentation. A genuine eagerness for learning paired with motivation drives you towards continuous improvement—investing time into researching new ideas that benefit both team members and wider organisational goals. Your capacity for collaborative teamwork is matched by your ability to manage independent tasks efficiently; together these qualities position you as an invaluable contributor who supports others while championing best practice.

* Demonstrated experience of at least two years working within finance functions in professional services environments with exposure to legal billing, eBilling processes, time recording support, matter opening procedures, WIP management or cash collection activities.

* Proficiency using SAP4 Hana or SAP R/3 systems for matter management tasks including data maintenance and authorisation workflows.

* Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel enabling effective analysis of financial data sets relevant to international operations.

* Appreciation of risks facing global finance teams within large organisations coupled with an understanding of priorities required for successful outcomes.
