Java Developer – Contract (Ongoing) London (blend of both office and remote working) Our client a global investment firm is seeking the skills of multiple, talented Java Engineers to join one of their technical Product teams. The chosen Software Engineers will join a Scrum team and be responsible for delivering back end systems, design and integration work, as well as working with event streaming (Kafka). They will operate in a fast paced environment and contribute fresh ideas and perspective, building positive and strong relationships with business stakeholders, ensuring that the technology strategy is aligned with the business goals.
Responsibilities
- Employment of Java and Angular to develop microservices, RESTful APIs
- Writing code that is efficient, testable and reusable
- Collaborating with different teams in agile/scrum environment; Software Engineering team, QE team and Project Management
- Data and Security protection implementation
Criteria
- Proven experience in Java(11+) / Spring / Spring Boot
- Strong practical exposure to messaging platforms – Kafka or JMS
- Hands on experience writing REST web services
- Hands on experience of build tools to build CI/CD pipelines – Gitlab, Maven, Jenkins
- Proven experience of Angular
- Experience with Relational and NoSQL databases ( Oracle, SQL Server, Mongo)
- Good knowledge and appreciation of Security
- Strong communication and collaborative skills, as well as initiative
