Junior Infrastructure Engineer / Manchester / £35,000
Fantastic opportunity for a Junior Infrastructure Engineer to join a digital transformation and IT solutions business due to continuous growth. This is a fantastic opportunity for a 2nd/3rd line support engineer with Helpdesk experience troubleshooting firewalls, switches, Windows Server infrastructure to take the next step in their career. Experience working for a managed service provider is essential for the role.
Skills and experience:
• Windows Sever 2012 through 2022
• Active Directory and related services (DHCP, DNS) or Azure AD
• Basic understanding of virtualisation (Hyper-V or VMware)
• Routers/firewalls (preferably Fortigate)
• Networking and switching
• Experience working for a managed service provider
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Full UK driving license
The successful candidate will initially be responsible for configuring and installing new switches, firewall/routers, servers and endpoint devices at client sites to a high level of customer satisfaction. The engineer will also assist Senior Project Engineers with cloud infrastructure refresh projects to further their technical understanding. The role is ideally suited to a service desk engineer who is looking to make the next step in their career. They would ideally have visited clients and performed on-site troubleshooting and/or infrastructure change as part of their current role.
