This is a fantistic opportunity for a Senior IT Engineer

This is a superb opportunity for a Senior IT Engineer. Working closely with 1st and 2nd Line teams to identify and drive continual improvement as well as having responsibility for the resolution of more complex incidents and service requests escalated by 1st and 2nd Line Engineers. You will be responsible for coaching and mentoring 1st and 2nd Line Engineers.

You will have a passion for driving efficiencies and driving continuous improvement as well as a broad range of technical expertise.

Responsibilities:

• Work with 3rd Line Engineers to assist with application releases as well as building and maintaining development environments;

• Produce and maintain quality guides, policy, process and/or procedure documentation;

• Ensure that knowledge articles are accurate and maintained effectively;

• Identify and drive change initiatives/opportunities for improvement via the Continual Service Improvement (CSI) plan;

• Actively seek out opportunities for improved automation and prepare associated business cases/justification for them;

• Manage more complex incidents and service requests, escalated from 2nd Line, and engage with/escalate to 3rd line if necessary to resolve;

• Manage role based access control requests across the Group;

• Provide guidance and direction on effective device imaging. Experience:

• Proven track record of undertaking effective; incident, request and problem management;

Strong working knowledge of

Windows Server, RDP, AD, MS Exchange, MS Hyper V, VMWare, PowerShell; remote access and terminal services;

• Strong understanding of WAN and LAN Networking including TCP/IP; DHCP; WINS; DNS;

• Strong working knowledge of System Centre 2012 including Operations and Virtual Machine Manager & Configuration Manager;

• Experience in effective release management;

• Experience in building and maintaining development environments;

• Understanding and management of role based access control;

• Experience in producing knowledge articles and quality documentation;

• MCSA accreditation. Desirable:

• Knowledge of Checkpoint Firewalls;

• MCSE qualified;

• ITIL Foundation;

• Knowledge of backup systems, ideally Symantec Backup Exec.
