This is a busy, project-focussed environment. You'll be responsible for managing key relationships and delivering IT services. It's a small team so you'll be hands on whilst driving service and perfomance improvement. The role would suit an experienced engineer looking for a step up.
To be successful as an IT Technical Manager you’ll need a proven track record in IT service management. A tenacious, proactive approach to problem solving is essential. IT Technical Manager Essentials:
•you are Microsoft Windows Server certified (or demonstrate relevant work experience)
•you understand the ITIL framework and the interdependencies of each of the processes
•you’ve got extensive experience in IT services (including looking after 24/7 critical systems)
• you can collaborate with supply partners and influence them to do the right things
• you can identify what good service looks like and communicate that to the IT team
• you are passionate about delivering a really responsive and proactive service
• you’re tenacious and will get to the bottom of a problem and hold teams to account
IT Technical Manager KPIs:
•Deliver all IT Services to agreed and contracted levels
•Reduce the number of service impacting incidents by driving service improvement plans with the internal service teams and external suppliers
•Delivery of change in a controlled manner – zero unplanned changes and reduction in emergency changes
•Demonstrate effective line management
•Provide input and insight to influence any asset renewal decisions and infrastructure / application renewal initiatives
