My client, a Global Investment Bank, are looking for an IT Security Engineer to join their growing team based in London.
About the IT Security Engineer Role:
My client's EMEA IT Security Team are searching for an IT Security Engineer to support the day-to-day operations of the IT security team based in their London office.
The Ideal candidate will be comfortable working globally and assisting with the design and implementation of IT security systems, developing best practice security procedures, assisting with incident response and supporting the relationship between security and the rest of my client's business partners.
Responsibilities:
- Engage in the EMEA IT Security team operational rota as the first point of contact for the business
- Respond to and triage any security incidents
- Act as the subject matter expert point of contact for the rest of technology and the wider business
- Be flexible to assist in a wide range of security disciplines where support from the wider team is needed
- Implement technology changes and control changes, working with the project managers to document and support these changes
- Continuously seek opportunities to develop IT Security skill
- Continuously develop industry best practice capabilities and processes for the team
Essential Knowledge:
- Theoretical knowledge of common networking protocols (SSH, SCP, FTP/SFTP, HTTP/HTTPS, SMTP, DNS), core encryption standards (PGP, RSA, SSL, TLS) and basic understanding of TCP/IP networking
- High level awareness of application and infrastructure logging, alerts and core security technologies such as SIEM’s, Proxy’s, Firewalls, EDR’s and MSSP’s
- Strong self-motivated documentation skills and the ability to monitor and track tickets and work in progress using JIRA or ServiceNow
- Awareness of OWASP Top 10 and/or CWE25
Required Experience:
- Information security experience
- Incident response support.
Desired Experience:
- Experience with core AWS services such as EC2, VPC, Direct Connect and EBS
- Security Certifications
