The GMC has partnered with Robert Walters to recruit a SOC Analyst/Engineer to join their team based in Spinningfields, Manchester. The General Medical Council helps to protect patients and improve medical education and practice in the UK by setting standards for students and doctors. We support them in achieving (and exceeding) those standards, and take action when they are not met.
We’re looking for a SOC Engineer/Analyst to join the GMC’s IS Operations Team to work closely with the Infrastructure and Cyber Security Managers based in Spinningfields, Manchester.
You will be given the opportunity to build, shape and form the SOC, after an initial period of analysing and understanding the current environment, and identify opportunities to further protect the organisation. In addition, you will provide detailed hands on Technical Security support and Management to a highly available infrastructure estate across 7 UK sites.
This is a new role within the organisation and as such, a genuine opportunity to further develop your career within IT Security.
As the SOC Engineer/Analyst, you will ideally have a strong WinTel Infrastructure background with demonstrable experience of the following technologies and solutions:
- Network security
- Virtualised environment security
- Microsoft security
- Firewall security
- Intrusion Detection/Prevention tools
- SIEM solutions
- Anti-Virus solutions
- Vulnerability assessment and Management tools
- Web Content filtering solutions
- Email Gateway solutions
- Cloud based solutions
Relevant Technical Security qualifications are desirable although experience is fundamentally required.
