Lead Machine Learning Scientist
My client are looking for a Lead Machine Learning Scientist. They are based out of Oxford and are aiming to drastically transform early cancer detection with an end goal of impacting billions of lives worldwide. They have developed a cutting edge, machine learning powered testing system that is affordable, mass producible, minimally invasive and can be conducted on large proportions of the population. They’ve closed an exceptional seed round – oversubscribed – and are looking to expand their highly passionate team.
This role is a leading position in a world class Research and Development team. You will be working at the intersection of academia and industry – focusing on where Machine Learning meets early cancer detection. You will be skilled in both supervised and unsupervised Machine Learning methods. Having a solid understanding of Time-Series analysis and classical ML analysis (things like SVM, feature selection, neural networks) is fantastic and exactly what they’re looking for. You should be able to replicate academic findings in an industry setting – you will be working on truly cutting edge Machine Learning.
This is a Hybrid role with the expectation of being Oxford based a few times a week. In terms of salary, they are flexible, but as a rough ballpark looking to pay 90 – 120k + a great range of benefits. - MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning or related subject area
- Solid academic background and understanding of the scientific method
- Demonstrable industry experience in an R&D Machine Learning positions
- Lots of experience on both supervised and unsupervised learning
- Solid Deep Learning, Neural Networks, Time series and Python skills
- Highly competent communicator with passion for leading teams and projects
