Machine Learning Signal Processing Scientist
My client are looking for a Machine Learning Signal Processing Scientist. They are based out of Oxford and are aiming to drastically transform early cancer detection with an end goal of impacting billions of lives worldwide. They have developed a cutting edge, machine learning powered testing system that is affordable, mass producible, minimally invasive and can be conducted on large proportions of the population. They’ve closed an exceptional seed round – oversubscribed – and are looking to expand their highly passionate team.
This role is focused on utilizing, understanding, processing and applying machine learning to mass spectrometry data, so a good background in biology and more specifically bioinformatics is important. If you have experience in proteomics, fantastic. You should have strong Python skills but most importantly a rigid understanding of Signal processing when applied to biological data. This role is expected to contribute to both academic publications and intellectual properties, so having solid R&D experience is a must.
This is a Hybrid role with the expectation of being Oxford based a few times a week. In terms of salary, they are flexible, but as a rough ballpark looking to pay 80 – 100k + a great range of benefits. This company is looking to scale fast, and as they grow, you will grow with them and will be offered lots of career progression. So, if the following looks like you:
- Relevant Degree, MSc or desirably PhD in mathematics, Statistics, DS, ML or Bioinformatics
- Previous industry experience is highly desirable (medtech) but demonstrable ML Signal Processing exp
- Expert understanding of Signal Processing and Bioinformatics
- Python experience and relevant ML libraries (PyTorch, Pandas etc)
- Probabilistic modelling and statistical inference experience
Then do not hesitate to get in touch. I think, most of all, you should be highly passionate about trying to make other people’s lives better. This is something everyone in this company has in common and ultimately should be the driving force of your decision to apply!
