Machine Learning Engineer – FinTech
I’m recruiting on behalf of one of Manchester’s premier FinTech organisations. In 2008 they were a Start-Up of 3 people. Now they’re a global business leader in lending with over 350 staff members. They have an elite software engineering function, are a data driven business and are now looking to utilise Machine Learning in their operations. Whilst they do have a fantastic office in Manchester central, this is a hybrid role which allows you to chose how you work best.
You will be working directly with the CTO, Head of Data and Data Engineering team. You will be working on the research, training, deployment, production and maintenance of Machine Learning models, algorithms and programs. Primarily, you will be working across financial forecasting and bespoke insight generation. My client are a data first organisation and you will have no shortage of quality Data. This will be the second core ML hire and you will be working closely with an exceptional engineer. Alongside this, you will have access to a Data Engineering and DevOps team.
The skills you need to succeed as a Machine Learning Engineer are:
- 2+ Years of commercial Experience in a Machine Learning role
- MSc or PhD in Comp Sci, Mathematics, Physics, Stats or related
- Experience of Building, training, designing, deploying and monitoring ML Models
- Strong Python coding skills and knowledge of Neural Networks, Random Forests, Predictive analytics etc
- Strong SWE skills; ability to write production level code, work with AWS and CI/CD/DevOps toolings
