I am currently working with an exclusive global organisation in Coventry on a greenfield project, I am looking for a Senior Data Analyst for a 6-12-month contract. there will be a heavy focus on Data Wrangling and Experience with TSQL.
This is a role within the Data & Insights group to support the immediate data priorities of the Trading and Demand Forecasting team. The Data & Insights group is a multidisciplinary team of around 25 developers, including data engineers, data analysts, data visualisation specialists and data scientists.
As well as maintaining centralised data products, Data & Insights work with all parts of the business to implement initiatives that deliver more tailored services and a better experience for the customer base.
You will work with a range of exciting data sources from across the business to reveal both commercial and creative insights in order to enable data-driven decision making. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to solve strategic challenges and deliver real value to make a positive difference to the business and customers.
Experience we need:
You will be very hands-on, with the majority of your time split between data wrangling; data investigations; and engaging with the Trading team.
The data wrangling part of the role will involve: converting raw staging tables into processed tables within SQL data warehouses; creating fact tables and single versions of truth; investigating data quality; building in logical checks; optimising performance; applying software architecture best practice, such as decoupling.
You will also spend time engaging and working alongside colleagues in the trading team to identify and understand the data sources, as well as clarifying requirements, understand priorities and expectations, dissemination of results, and to address feedback in user acceptance testing.
You will work within an agile team, prioritising the most valuable projects and products, whilst ensuring successful delivery on those projects. Collaborative working and knowledge sharing are important aspects in the team, as well as is having an open mind to learn and try new innovative techniques. Clear technical and user documentation is also key to the role, so that colleagues can support and use your output.
My client is predominantly using a mixture of Microsoft SQL Server and Impala Hadoop for data wrangling and Tableau for data visualisation, although they are open to new tools that can bring more value to the team.
