Business Design Analyst
£35,000 - £40,000 + Bonus + Benefits
Robert Walters is partnering with a Global Financial Services Organisation based in Manchester, they have an exciting new opportunity for a Business Design Analyst with great career progression with a large enterprise level business.
To lead components of design and integration activity for one or more applications / products across the end-to-end software development life-cycle, whilst ensuring that the technical integrity and quality of the applications / products is maintained across their lifetime, leading the development of any technical changes being proposed.
Liaise with UK business clients to help shape initial ideas into firm system requirements, ensuring that they are sufficiently comprehensive and detailed to support effective system development.
Produce system technical designs for small and medium changes, engaging, directing and collaborating with other internal and supplier teams as required delivering the E2E solution along with provide technical consultancy for new initiatives, to assist in the definition of business solutions or technical strategies.
Stakeholder Management and Leadership
You will be working as part of an application feature team following an agile delivery methodology. The role will report to the Product Owner and you will work closely with the development and testing specialists within the team to ensure they have understood and successfully implemented your designs. Externally you will interact with different projects to understand the business requirements and translate them into component designs this will include business analysts, E2E solution designers and project managers.
Decision-making and Problem Solving
The role requires excellent decision making and problem-solving skills. You will need to quickly assess new requirements and determine how they can be met. When there are technical barriers to delivery you will need to work with all stakeholders to determine if there are viable alternative solutions or approaches. You will need to present your solutions back to stakeholders clearly articulating the pros and cons and ensuring that your proposals achieve the best outcomes for the business.
- Good level of experience of IT software design and development
- Good level of experience of requirements analysis and functional design
- End-to-end software development life-cycle and methodologies (e.g. Waterfall, Agile).
- Awareness of leading-edge tools, techniques and services within IT.
Design and implementation experience in some or all of:
- Webservices / knowledge of WSDL
- Infrastructure components (specifically databases, directories, Java application servers, security components)
