A renowned global corporation is seeking to appoint a newly created position for a Director of Architecture who's purpose is to drive major transformation. Reporting to the CIO and as part of the technology leadership team, you will be responsible for driving business strategy through teams and people, by effectively engaging with colleagues to deliver against the strategic vision. In a sector ripe for exploiting new ways of working you'll be accountable for leading teams that pioneer a cutting edge architecture estate that enables the business to realise extensive growth aspirations.
The main features of the role are:
-Identifying and proposing portfolio changes and improvements, including greenfield builds
decommissioning or leading RFI’s to select the appropriate vendor.
-Building domain and segment architecture capabilities across the function.
-Assuring the business has an efficient applications landscape that supports it's needs and adherences to standards and guidelines.
-Analysis of industry trends and contributing to strategic planning across the business leadership team to seek opportunities where technology can provide an advantage.
-Influencing the redesign of business processes and technologies to further the business wide transformation.
To be successful in this Director of Architecture role you will have some of the following skills and experience:
-An extensive track record as an enterprise architect within sectors that operate in highly complex and regulated circumstances.
-You can develop, grow and nurture teams and you have a number of years management experience. Your approach and attitude towards leadership is important because this is a new role.
-You will have worked in environments that have in-house software engineering teams and you have an appreciation of Agile development processes and a product based approach and how that impacts architecture.
-Experience with large scale on premise, cloud infrastructures & server virtualization platforms is a big plus.
-Your stakeholder management abilities across the business are absolutely outstanding.
-You’ve worked with, managed and assessed large scale vendors in your career.
-You have a deep passion for change and transformation but understand how that is achieved in a large global organisation.
-TOGAF is important but don’t worry if you aren’t decorated with all the certifications, the knowledge is what's important.
