HR Manager

Job title: HR Manager Location: Manchester Salary £45k - £50k Hybrid working / Full time and permanent

I am looking for HR Manager to join a professional services organisation in Manchester. This is a hands-on, operational role, suited to a true HR generalist who enjoys being involved in the day-to-day running of HR while also leading and developing a team.

You will play a key role in supporting the business across all areas of the employee lifecycle, providing practical and commercially focused HR support in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

The Role:

• Act as a trusted HR partner to senior leaders and managers

• Lead and manage the day-to-day HR function, remaining operational and hands-on

• Manage and develop direct reports, providing guidance, coaching, and support

• Oversee and lead employee relations matters, including grievances, disciplinaries, performance management, and absence

• Ensure HR policies, processes, and employment practices align with business needs and employment law

• Support organisational change, workforce planning, and people initiatives

• Maintain accurate HR data, reporting, and compliance

The Ideal Candidate:

• Proven experience as an HR Manager within the professional services sector

• Strong generalist background covering the full employee lifecycle

• Demonstrable line management experience

• Comfortable working in a hands-on, operational HR role

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

• Pragmatic, solutions-focused approach to HR
