Our client is seeking a highly skilled Product Controller to join their dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to play a key part in the Product Control team, which is an integral part of Fund Accounting. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, reconciling, and validating data in the in-house data warehouse, ensuring accuracy and integrity across various data points. This role also involves leadership responsibilities, including working alongside the CTO to deploy tactical software solutions and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

What you'll do:

As a Product Controller, you will play a pivotal role in managing the back loading processes of historical data into the in-house data warehouse. You will ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness while maintaining high-quality data through ongoing BAU activities. Your role will involve providing operational support to existing processes and systems while actively managing daily and monthly reconciliations of P&L, NAV positions, instrument definitions, and derived metrics such as IRR, TVPI, and MOIC. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver process improvements, automation, and other strategic initiatives.

  • Manage the back loading processes of historical data into the in-house Nexus data warehouse
  • Maintain data quality through ongoing BAU activities
  • Provide operational support to existing processes and systems
  • Actively manage daily and monthly reconciliations of P&L, NAV, positions, instrument definitions, and derived metrics
  • Investigate, document, and resolve breaks and exceptions in close coordination with stakeholders
  • Validate accuracy and consistency of instrument definitions and pricing data
  • Contribute to enhancing internal data governance frameworks and monitoring subsequent compliance
  • Lead tactical projects aimed at enhancing efficiency through the deployment of new or upgraded software solutions

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Product Controller position brings extensive knowledge of credit instruments including Loans (RCFs, PIKs), Bonds, Repos, as well as knowledge of equities and derivatives. You have a solid understanding of hedge fund accounting principles, P&L calculations, NAV reconciliations, and risk metrics. Your technical skills include demonstrated proficiency in Excel including complex data manipulation and experience working with sophisticated data warehouse products. You are familiar with PMS platforms or credit portfolio management systems. Your strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities have enabled you to manage integration between multiple data sources and systems successfully.

  • Solid understanding of hedge fund accounting principles, P&L calculations, NAV reconciliations, and risk metrics
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Excel including complex data manipulation
  • Experience working with sophisticated data warehouse products
  • Familiarity with PMS platforms or equivalent credit portfolio management systems
  • Good understanding of hedge fund accounting principles, P&L calculations, NAV reconciliations, and risk metrics.
  • Experience managing integration between multiple data sources and systems.

Minimum 5-7 years of relevant product control or fund accounting experience within a hedge fund, asset manager, or financial services firm.
