SENIOR ASSOCIATE, TRADE OPERATIONS

Salary: £50-65k
Location: London

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Associate Trade Operations to join a highly respected financial institution in London. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about their work.



What you'll do:


* Oversee the funding of settlement flows and manage intraday cash positions to minimise the risk of trade failures while ensuring timely completion of all related activities.
* Provide daily oversight and monitoring of an offshore processing team, ensuring alignment with local and global operational standards.
* Complete comprehensive daily cash and stock reconciliations, taking responsibility for resolving assigned breaks efficiently and accurately.
* Contribute actively to increasing Straight Through Processing (STP) rates for paper confirmations by identifying bottlenecks and implementing effective solutions.
* Handle the confirmation process for Fixed Income and Central business lines, ensuring that all economic and non-economic terms are captured correctly in documentation.
* Respond promptly to technical queries from clients as well as internal stakeholders such as the Sales & Trading division, providing clear explanations and resolutions.
* Support funding and settlement activities for both bilateral and triparty repo trades as well as buy/sell bond transactions, including proactive intraday cash management.
* Liaise directly with traders, clients, custodian banks, counterparties, front office, middle office teams, and other internal groups to address queries and facilitate smooth operations.
* Follow structured control processes meticulously by completing daily checklists and contributing to a robust operational risk culture that underpins consistent service delivery.
* Identify areas for process improvement in collaboration with both local and global Operations teams, focusing on enhancing controls and driving greater operational efficiency.


What you bring:


* Demonstrated experience working within financial services operations with hands-on familiarity in supporting day-to-day processes for global markets products.

* Comprehensive experinence of securities products including bonds and repos is essential, along with an understanding of relevant settlement practices and operational requirements.

* Experience with static data and settlement processes, including SSI management, counterparty setup and security setup, would be advantageous.

* Exceptional problem-solving abilities coupled with the capacity to work dependably while escalating issues appropriately when necessary.

* Clear communication skills that enable you to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams both locally and globally.

* Meticulous attention to detail combined with motivation and a consistently professional approach in all aspects of your work.
