Capital Market Data Analyst
As a Capital Market Data Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the organisation’s capital markets strategy. Your day-to-day activities will centre around automating complex portfolio monitoring tasks through innovative dashboard creation while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless data integration. You will be responsible for uncovering critical trends in large datasets and translating these into clear insights for senior leadership.
Must have:
- Demonstrated experience of at least two years in data analytics roles within the finance or fintech sector, showcasing your ability to handle complex datasets relevant to capital markets.
- A strong academic background with at least a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, Computational Finance or an equivalent discipline that underpins your analytical approach.
- Proven hands-on expertise with SQL for querying databases efficiently as well as Python for advanced data manipulation tasks.
- Practical experience using leading data visualisation tools such as Tableau to create impactful dashboards that inform business decisions.
- Familiarity with dbt (Data Build Tool) would be advantageous but is not essential; willingness to learn new technologies is valued.
Responsibilities:
- Automate portfolio monitoring processes by designing and implementing dashboards using advanced visualisation tools to provide real-time insights.
- Identify emerging trends within capital markets data sets and effectively communicate actionable insights to senior executives for strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate closely with data engineering teams to build robust database tables that enable seamless automation of reporting workflows.
- Assess the performance of underlying capital mandates by conducting thorough analysis and presenting findings to key stakeholders.
- Develop detailed financial analyses and cashflow models that support capital allocation strategies and optimise portfolio management decisions.
- Work cross-functionally with finance, technology, and product teams to ensure accurate data integration and alignment with business objectives.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of data quality standards by establishing best practices in data governance and validation.
- Support the implementation of new analytical methodologies that enhance forecasting accuracy and risk assessment capabilities within the capital markets function.
- Participate in regular reviews of portfolio performance metrics, providing recommendations for process enhancements based on quantitative evidence.
- Engage in knowledge sharing sessions with colleagues to promote collaborative problem-solving and foster a culture of learning.
