As an Operations Analyst based in London, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the firm's multi-asset trading activities through meticulous trade validation, settlement management, reconciliation processes, and stakeholder engagement. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve utilising advanced technology platforms to ensure seamless execution of trade life cycles across various financial instruments. You will collaborate with colleagues across different regions to address operational challenges promptly while prioritising stakeholder needs.
- Validate, maintain, affirm, settle, and reconcile trades for a diverse range of asset types including equities, swaps, futures, options, bonds, credit derivatives, FX products, commodities, and emerging instruments.
- Ensure the integrity of the entire trade life cycle by processing all periodic events accurately and efficiently within established timelines.
- Perform detailed position and cash reconciliations using industry-standard systems to guarantee accuracy across accounts.
- Affirm T+0 trades in platforms such as Traiana, Markitwire, Omgeo CTM, and ICE Link with counterparties to minimise operational risk.
- Process complex corporate actions, option exercises, OTC credit events, and other related tasks with precision and attention to detail.
- Prioritise ad hoc requests from internal stakeholders by managing competing demands effectively while maintaining high standards of service.
- Identify control gaps within operational processes and propose practical improvements that enhance efficiency and reduce risk.
- Collaborate closely with Technology teams, Project Management professionals, and senior stakeholders to implement process enhancements successfully.
- Support treasury functions by ensuring accurate settlements and timely resolution of any discrepancies or issues.
- Contribute positively to the team environment by fostering long-lasting organisational relationships built on trust and mutual respect.
What you bring:
You bring not only technical proficiency across multiple asset classes but also an empathetic approach towards teamwork that helps build lasting connections throughout the organisation.
- Demonstrated experience of at least four years in buy side Middle or Back Office roles covering trade processing, collateral management, confirmations, settlements as well as cash and position reconciliations.
- Proven track record of contributing to system enhancements or process improvements within an investment management or financial services environment.
- Comprehensive understanding of multiple asset classes such as Equities, Equity Swaps/CFDs, Cleared Futures & Options, Corporate & Government Bonds, Credit Default Swaps (CDS), Interest Rate Swaps (IRS), FX Spot & Forwards as well as Commodities.
- Ability to establish dependable organisational relationships that foster a pleasant work atmosphere focused on shared objectives.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills enabling effective interaction with internal teams and external counterparties alike.
- Familiarity with relevant technology platforms including Excel plus industry applications such as Traiana, Markitwire, Omgeo CTM/Northern Trust Passport/Bloomberg.
- Commitment to collaborative problem-solving approaches that promote inclusive decision-making within cross-functional teams.
- Sensitivity towards stakeholder priorities coupled with responsiveness when managing ad hoc requests or urgent queries.
