OPERATIONS ASSOCIATE

12 MONTH FTC

Salary: £14-19.50 per hour
Location: Glasgow

What you'll do:


* Pre-match and affirm all credit financing trades using vendor tools while liaising directly with clients to ensure accuracy and efficiency throughout the process.
* Manage fails by reconciling and resolving unmatched trades promptly, maintaining high standards of operational excellence.
* Collaborate closely with clients, trading desks, and other operations teams to address any matching issues that may arise during the trade lifecycle.
* Deliver first-class service by responding effectively to client queries and ensuring their needs are met with professionalism and care.
* Work alongside the trading desk on high-focus fails that have profit and loss implications, providing timely updates on settlement status.
* Monitor risk and recall processes vigilantly to identify potential buy-in risks, escalating concerns promptly and taking appropriate action to mitigate them.
* Identify opportunities for greater efficiency within current processes by suggesting improvements or automating manual tasks where possible.
* Track key risk indicators (KRI) and key performance indicators (KPI) thresholds consistently to ensure the team maintains robust risk management and performance standards.
* Contribute actively to internal projects as well as market-driven initiatives that support business growth and enhance operational effectiveness.


What you bring:


* Previous experience in securities financing or investment operations is preferrable; transferable skills from middle office, trade support, client service, settlement or trade lifecycle roles are highly valued. Graduates with significant intership experince will be considered too!
* A proven ability to develop deep understanding of operational processes with an enthusiasm for identifying areas for improvement or automation.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with a track record of building positive relationships across teams and leveraging networks to deliver results for clients.
* Strong organisational abilities with meticulous attention to detail when handling complex trade data or resolving discrepancies.
* Effective communication skills that enable you to respond thoughtfully to client queries while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
* A collaborative mindset that thrives in team-oriented environments where knowledge sharing is encouraged.
* Demonstrated commitment to upholding risk management standards by monitoring KRIs/KPIs and escalating issues appropriately.
* Adaptability when faced with changing priorities or new products/markets introduced into the business offering.
* Comfortable using technology platforms relevant to trade processing is preferable; willingness to learn new systems as required.
