An excellent opportunity is available with a leading outsourced provider of clearing and settlement services as part of a global financial technology business based in Birmingham City Centre for a Foreign Exchange (FX) and Fund Administrator to facilitate the placing of transactions with the appropriate counter party dependent upon the order type. The business are currently operating an agile working policy with three office based days per week and two remote days per week.
The dealing department performs a critical function of Platform Securities client offering. Transacting multi asset equities, Funds and Foreign Exchange in line with regulatory obligations. Unit Trust transactions will either be placed via a Fund Supermarket or directly with a Fund Manager. Forex transactions will be placed with the chosen provider for the business at the time of placing the transaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing of all FX and Fund transactions in a timely manner observing both the market deadlines concerned and the underlying partner SLA’s.
- Transaction processing with full awareness of the associated risks for each of the transaction types concerned.
- Liaising with Brokers, market counter parties, registrars and partners
- Ensuring all related system data and control documents are updated in line with department procedures
- Maintenance of departmental documentation including procedures / processes definitions and undertake regular reviews to ensure remains accurate and current
- Maintain and assist in the production of reporting, control documentation and management information according to time frames as requested
- Deal with internal / external queries and manage responsibilities of issue resolution as and when required, manage client expectations
- Carry out activities, following a rota or plan set by others, or by following a general daily routine or procedures, working flexibly to re-prioritise urgent and/or unscheduled activities/tasks into the daily schedule
The FX and Fund Administrator will ideally have some exposure of working in a financial services environment in a client facing role. You will have some experience within FX either in a role professionally or have an interest in FX and may do some trading personally. The role will require self-study, in personal time, of CISI Material for the Regulation and the Securities exams. You will have some experience of working with back office applications, intermediate knowledge of Excel and Word Microsoft applications, ideally some working knowledge of fund administration and processing and the foreign exchange and risk environment. There is an expectation that the successful candidate will attain approved status under the SMCR within 12 months of joining the dealing team.
