Technical Accounting Manager

Our client, a leading and diversified specialty insurance and reinsurance company, is seeking a highly skilled Technical Accounting Manager. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply your subject matter expertise and related accounting principles to effectively carry out high-value, complex accounting activities.

What you'll do:

As a Technical Accounting Manager, you will play a crucial role in contributing to the functional strategy development of the company. Your expertise will be instrumental in guiding others within the team, ensuring accuracy and good practice. You will handle transactions of varying complexity while ensuring operational processes are executed appropriately. Leveraging your technical knowledge of accounting principles such as GAAP, you will efficiently carry out high-value accounting activities.

• Contribute to functional strategy development and prioritise operational deliverables
• Advise and guide others within the team to ensure accuracy and adherence to prescribed standards
• Complete transactions within a broader range of value and complexity
• Ensure operational processes are appropriately executed and maintained
• Discipline specific technical expertise and knowledge in relation to legal and regulatory requirements (including specific reference to e.g. GAAP, FCA/Lloyds regulation)
• Working knowledge of best practice accounting and regional accounting standards
• Manage the review and analysis of functional performance to identify progress towards business objectives
• Present analysis to the senior leadership team

What you bring:

As the ideal candidate for the Technical Accounting Manager position, you bring along strong written and verbal communication skills including presentation and technical writing abilities. Your ability to collaborate, manage, and work flexibly with others will be essential in this role. You have significant experience managing finance teams or groups of individuals with relevant subject matter expertise. Your ability to build strong business relationships across a global business will be highly valued. You are proficient in MS Office applications like Excel and other discipline-specific software packages.

• Fully Qualified ACCA / ACA / CA / CIMA
• Significant post-qualification work experience with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the insurance industry
• Experience managing finance teams or groups of individuals with relevant subject matter expertise
• Ability to build strong business relationships across a global business
• Proficiency in MS Office applications e.g. Excel and other discipline-specific software packages
