This high growth organisation in Manchester is looking for an experienced Investment Manager with debt & loan funding experience to join them in an newly established office taking control of an exciting new fund.

Reporting to an Impressive Investment Director, your core duties will include;

• Being autonomous in Greater Manchester, the Investment Manager will be expected to strategically drive delivery of targets in the specified region, whilst ensuring clear communication with head office.
• The Investment Manager will source and attend face to face meetings with applicants to determine their needs and identify the right product to meet their goals.
• Identify, obtain, and support the collection and processing of all necessary information to enable a full appraisal of each proposition to be undertaken in line with the investment operating guidelines of the fund.
• Drive the implementation of debt transactions through effective deal management and use of internal network.
• Management of the full debt lifecycle required including; origination, structuring, negotiating, delivery and relevant support to the portfolio team during the repayment phase.
• Analyse statutory accounts, management accounts and financial projections for risk, completing a financial analysis sheet and undertake appropriate internal due diligence.
• The investment manager will own the preparation of appraisals for investment committee and must be confident at producing and presenting any proposal in a concise manner.
• Appropriately raise cases for discussion with leadership and /or the key stakeholders on the deal team.
• Investment Manager will drive their own personal development with progression opportunities available within organisation as funds under management grow across new geographies.
• Assisting organisation with business development activities and appropriate management of any referrals to the fellow Investment Managers or the local business support organisations. This will include close working with the Marketing team to ensure appropriate attendance at events and deal press releases.
• Understand the requirements of each specific fund that organisation has under management and provide co-funding or referrals into the wider team in line with competing funds policies.
• Develop and maintain an external network with professional firms and introducers in the geographies the organisation covers.
• Support the Head of Debt with tenders and output reporting for the fund, including periodic reporting presentations to the fund investors.
• Ensure compliance with mandatory Risk policies and procedures relating to governance, regulatory compliance (including Financial Crime), operational and legal risk.

Key requirements;

• Experience working in SME/Corporate finance environment and strong understanding of business funding.
• Previous debt transaction and loan assessment experience ideally within a banking or similar corporate finance environment is preferred.
• Investment Manager will have the necessary credit skills to analyse businesses and loan requests to identify key issues and develop appropriate solutions.
• Good relationship skills including the ability to convey and explain information coherently in both oral and written formats
• Ability to adapt to a variety of tasks.
• Flexibility to travel as required to other offices and/or events in the NW region.
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Ambitious and hard-working self-starter
• Out-going and sociable
