This role has been created withing a leading payments startup to oversee and take ownership or statutory & regulatory reporting for Europe. This role will be reporting into the VP of Group Finacne and oversee the European functions to create the consistency across the group. A key responsibility for this role will also be to chair the safeguarding committee.
FCAOversight and regulatory reporting:
•Primary oversight over subsidiary safeguarding procedures and policies, including:
•Establishment and day to day ownership of safeguarding committee
•Design, own and manage second line controls and process monitoring activities
•Ongoing review of safeguarding process and calculations, identifying and driving any remediation efforts required;
•Finance lead for review of policies and procedures, providing technical support and guidance to subsidiary teams.
•Ownership and review of regulatory reporting, including:
•Review of all regulatory reporting including capital returns, financial statements prior to submission
•Horizon scanning and owning the implementation of all financial regulatory technical developments. First point of technical support for divisional teams; and
•Ongoing review of current regulatory reporting process
•Ownership of financial prudence related initiatives including:
•Legal entity and group prudence/assurance modelling
•Supporting finance risk tolerance initiatives, for example capital buffers; and
•Drive maintenance of divisional and group wind-up / resolution plans.
•Key finance liaison for legal and treasury functions in respect of FCAreporting and safeguarding operations.
•Support with driving the Group’s regulatory assurance strategy and liaising with internal and external auditors.
EMEA Regulatory and Financial Reporting Manager
Statutory Financial Reporting:
•Group ownership and oversight for all European subsidiary financial statements and any other reporting requirements.
•Establishment of Group financial statement templates to be used across all locations
•Review and redesign of subsidiary financial reporting operating model-leveraging the Group’s shared service centre wherever possible.
•Run supplier selection process for statutory financial statement preparation package and roll out across the group
•Support and drive the subsidiary audit process and timings, working closely alongside the Group audit process.
•Progress tracking and stakeholder updates for all regulatory and statutory financial reporting globally.
•Implementation and roll out of PwC encompass for progress tracking.
•Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls relevant to regulatory and statutory financial reporting across the Group and identify improvements required
The successful candidate will gain exposure to a variety of functions across Group Finance and the wider group including the Group’s senior management, legal, treasury and tax.
This role would suit an individual who has previously worked in a company subject to FCA regulatory controls and reporting requirements, or an individual from a big 4 accountancy practice with sufficient exposure to clients operating in a FCA regulated environment (manager level or above if directly from an accounting firm).
