What you'll do: As Head of Compliance – Insurance Technology, you will be entrusted with shaping the regulatory landscape for a cutting-edge digital insurance platform entering the UK market. Your day-to-day activities will involve designing policies that not only meet but anticipate FCA requirements; leading licensing efforts; interpreting complex regulatory updates; overseeing AML/KYC/data privacy controls; conducting risk assessments; establishing monitoring systems; supporting audits; ensuring products are designed ethically; managing complaints processes; and delivering impactful training sessions. You will be instrumental in creating an environment where compliance is seen as an enabler of growth rather than an obstacle. * Design and maintain comprehensive compliance frameworks that align with FCA requirements, ensuring all aspects of the business operate within regulatory expectations. * Lead all aspects of regulatory readiness including licensing processes, ongoing supervision, and acting as the primary contact for interactions with the FCA and other relevant bodies. * Interpret evolving regulatory changes and provide clear guidance to senior leadership on their implications for business strategy and operations. * Build and oversee Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), data privacy, consumer duty, and distribution controls to safeguard both the organisation and its customers. * Conduct thorough risk assessments across business units, implementing effective remediation plans where necessary to address identified gaps or vulnerabilities. * Establish robust compliance monitoring, testing, and reporting frameworks that support continuous improvement and transparency across all functions. * Support internal audits and ongoing compliance reviews by preparing documentation, facilitating communication with auditors, and ensuring timely resolution of findings. * Ensure that product design, marketing materials, pricing strategies, and distribution channels adhere strictly to UK regulations for fairness and transparency. * Implement complaint handling frameworks that meet or exceed UK standards for consumer protection, ensuring swift resolution of issues raised by customers. * Deliver engaging compliance training across teams to foster a culture of responsibility and awareness throughout the organisation.

  • At least eight years’ experience in compliance, risk management or regulatory roles within financial services, insurance, insurtech or fintech sectors is essential for this position.

  • Deep knowledge of FCA regulations—including Consumer Duty—and their practical application within digital platforms or insurance distribution models is vital.
  • Demonstrated ability to design scalable compliance programmes from early-stage environments through periods of rapid organisational growth is highly valued.
  • Experience supporting digital platforms or technology-driven insurance solutions will enable you to navigate unique regulatory considerations effectively.
  • Proven track record in building AML/KYC/data privacy controls that protect both consumers and organisational interests is important for this role.
  • Clear communication skills are needed for engaging regulators as well as senior stakeholders internally across multiple disciplines.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments and implementing remediation plans ensures operational resilience against emerging threats.
  • Ability to deliver engaging compliance training sessions that resonate with diverse teams enhances overall organisational awareness.
