Chief Compliance Officer (M&A Advisory) Location: London (hybrid working - 3 days in the office) Our client is seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable Chief Compliance Officer to join their team in London. This role offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and effective management of broader regulatory risks. The successful candidate will also act as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies, providing expert advice to senior management. What you'll do:

As a Chief Compliance Officer, your role will be pivotal in ensuring our client's adherence to regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for developing a robust compliance framework that aligns with FCA regulations. Your expertise will be crucial in monitoring regulatory changes and assessing their impact on operations. Additionally, you will oversee the company's Anti-Money Laundering (AML) systems, ensuring they meet all necessary regulations. Beyond these key responsibilities, you will also play an integral part in fostering a culture of compliance within the organisation through training programs. Your role will extend beyond compliance, taking on operational responsibilities as well. You will assist in overseeing all aspects of the company's operations, implementing strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

  • Develop and maintain a robust compliance framework, including policies and procedures, designed to ensure adherence to FCA regulations and other relevant laws.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on the company's operations.
  • Act as the main point of contact with the FCA on all regulatory compliance matters.
  • Oversee the company's AML systems and controls.
  • Ensure completion of relevant training programs for compliance and AML.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate compliance and AML risks across the company's operations.
  • Provide expert advice to senior management on compliance and AML-related matters.
  • Oversee the investigation and resolution of compliance and AML breaches or incidents.
  • Collaborate with external advisors to enhance the company's compliance functions.
  • Assist in overseeing all aspects of the company's operations.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Chief Compliance Officer position brings extensive experience in compliance and Anti-Money Laundering (AML), preferably within an FCA-regulated financial services firm. You possess in-depth knowledge of FCA regulations, AML laws, and the SM&CR framework. Your strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities will be key in this role, as well as your high ethical standards and integrity. Excellent organisational and project management skills are essential, along with the ability to influence and drive change across the organisation. Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills are also required for this position.
