Chief Compliance Officer (Payments) Salary: £100,000 - £120,000 (total compensation £150,000 - £170,000) Location: London Keywords: Compliance, Regulatory, Financial Crime, Risk Management, Payments & Lending A global enterprise is seeking an experienced Chief Compliance Officer to lead their team supporting regulated payment and lending services in the UK. This role offers a competitive salary range of £100,000 - £120,000 and is based in the vibrant city of London. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of building and maturing compliance frameworks in the payments and/or merchant lending sectors in the UK, including extensive direct experience of liaising with supervisory regulators (FCA). This role also includes holding the position of Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO). * Lead a team of regulatory and financial crime specialists. * Develop strategic relationships with partner teams. * Oversee and conduct ongoing training and manage all necessary regulatory reporting.

What you'll do:

As a Chief Compliance Officer, you will be at the forefront of ensuring that our client's regulated payment and lending services operate within all necessary regulations. You will lead a dedicated team of specialists, fostering strategic relationships across various departments. Your proactive approach will be crucial in planning for changes in the compliance landscape. You will produce regular reports on financial crime, providing valuable insights to senior management. Your expertise will be called upon as you provide thought leadership on financial crime prevention. Furthermore, you will deploy and enhance oversight mechanisms to monitor regulatory and financial crime risks.

* Lead a team of regulatory and financial crime specialists to ensure operations are in accordance with all regulatory requirements.
* Develop strategic and productive relationships with partner teams within the organisation.
* Proactively help the business team plan for changes in the compliance and regulatory environment.
* Produce relevant MLRO reports and monthly management updates on financial crime.
* Provide thought leadership on financial crime prevention.
* Deploy and enhance compliance oversight mechanisms and metrics for regulatory and financial crime risks and controls.

What you bring:
The ideal Chief Compliance Officer brings an excellent understanding of the current payments and lending regulatory environment. She has significant experience in second line compliance roles dealing with Anti-Money Laundering, Counter Terrorism Financing, Economic Sanctions, and Fraud Risk Management. Her understanding of performing financial crime and compliance risk assessments is top-notch. She has extensive people management experience and has a track record of building high-performing teams. Her communication skills are exceptional, with the ability to translate complex issues for various audiences. She is not afraid to challenge the status quo and drive for results in fast-paced environments.

* An excellent understanding of the current payments and lending regulatory environment.
* Significant experience of second line compliance in Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorism Financing.
* An understanding of performing financial crime and compliance risk assessments.
* Extensive people management experience, helping to build high-performing teams that deliver results.
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
* Demonstrated ability to challenge the status-quo and drive for results in ambiguous environments.
