The Compliance Department seeks to protect the Bank’s licenses to operate by promoting and enforcing adherence with laws, regulations, rules, expectations of regulators, the standards of self-regulatory organizations, and codes of conduct / ethics in connection with the Bank’s regulated activities. Compliance also take a leading role in driving a culture of compliance and ethical conduct in the Bank. You will be overseeing a team covering all Private Bank business lines for the UK and manage a team.
Your key responsibilities
- Advising and supporting the UK business on applicable law, rules and regulation, including the development of responses to, and implementation of, new regulations
- Providing advice and guidance on the application of relevant rules and policies to specific transactions and general business activities based on an understanding of business initiatives and strategies
- Overseeing the build and roll-out of the 1st Line Of Defence monitoring programme and leveraging the results for the Department’s risk assessment processes
- Represent Compliance on Management and Governance forums and act as a recognised point of escalation for all private banking UK Compliance issues
- Provide periodic reports and updates regarding Compliance issues to Global Compliance Management, Regional management and the Business
- Overseeing and managing the Private Bank UK Compliance function
Your skills and experience
- A broad understanding of the private banking industry, including key service offerings
- Wealth management product knowledge including regulated and unregulated collective investment schemes, equities, fixed income, derivatives and structured products
- Comprehensive knowledge of European and UK Regulations, including Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) rules regarding retail distribution review, suitability, treating customers fairly
- Experience in successfully directing, managing, and motivating a team with the ability to communicate confidently, listen and lead
- Strong interpersonal skills
