Accounts Payable Senior Analyst

Save job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounts Payable Senior Analyst to join a global finance team in the heart of London. This position is ideal for someone who is fluent in Italian and possesses a deep understanding of Italian tax law, offering you the chance to work within a supportive, international network that spans the US, Europe, and the UK. The role is initially offered on a temporary basis with the potential for permanency, providing flexibility and the prospect of long-term career growth. You will enjoy a hybrid working arrangement, spending three days in a modern office between Chancery Lane and Farringdon (with plans to move to St Paul's next year) and two days working from home. If you are looking for a collaborative environment where your expertise will be valued and your professional development supported, this could be the perfect next step in your career.

What You'll Do:

As an Accounts Payable Senior Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the smooth operation of a busy finance department. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve processing invoices with precision, ensuring strict adherence to Italian tax laws, and maintaining clear communication with both local and international colleagues. You will be instrumental in month-end processes, helping prepare essential reports that inform key business decisions. Your ability to collaborate across borders will be crucial as you work alongside teams based in different countries. By leveraging your language skills and attention to detail, you will help maintain accurate financial records while also contributing ideas for ongoing process enhancements. This position offers variety each day—whether you're resolving vendor queries or assisting with audits—and provides ample opportunities for professional growth within a truly global setting.

  • Process high volumes of invoices accurately and efficiently while ensuring compliance with Italian tax regulations and internal policies.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues across multiple regions including the US, Europe, and UK to resolve queries related to accounts payable transactions.
  • Support month-end closing activities by preparing reconciliations, reports, and analysis as required by the finance leadership team.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of all accounts payable transactions using financial systems and ensure documentation is complete for audit purposes.
  • Communicate effectively in both English and Italian when liaising with vendors, internal stakeholders, and external partners to address payment issues or discrepancies.
  • Assist in implementing process improvements within the accounts payable function to enhance efficiency and accuracy across global operations.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior members of the accounts payable team as needed, sharing your knowledge of best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Work under the direction of the Accounts Payable Manager to deliver timely payments while adhering to company policies and deadlines.
  • Participate actively in regular team meetings and contribute ideas for continuous improvement within the finance department.
  • Adapt quickly to changes in office location or working patterns as required by business needs.

What You’ll Bring:

The ideal candidate for this Accounts Payable Senior Analyst position brings proven experience managing complex invoice processing tasks within an international context. Your fluency in Italian enables seamless communication with stakeholders throughout Europe, while your thorough grasp of relevant tax legislation ensures compliance at every stage. You have demonstrated proficiency using leading financial systems, which allows you to handle high transaction volumes without sacrificing accuracy. Your interpersonal strengths shine through when collaborating on cross-border projects or resolving queries from vendors. Organisational skills are second nature; you thrive under pressure during critical reporting cycles yet remain attentive to every detail. With a history of supporting process enhancements, you show initiative in driving positive change within finance teams. Above all, your adaptable mindset means you can transition smoothly between office settings or adjust workflows as business needs evolve.

  • Fluency in both written and spoken Italian is essential for effective communication with vendors and colleagues across regions.
  • A minimum of 3-4 years’ experience in an accounts payable or similar finance role within an international environment is required.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Italian tax law as it applies to accounts payable processes is necessary for success in this position.
  • Proficiency with financial software systems such as SAP or Oracle will enable you to manage large volumes of transactions efficiently.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are vital for building strong relationships with internal teams and external partners alike.
  • Strong organisational abilities allow you to prioritise tasks effectively while meeting tight deadlines during peak periods such as month-end close.
  • Attention to detail ensures accuracy when processing invoices and reconciling accounts across multiple currencies.
  • Experience supporting process improvements within finance functions demonstrates your commitment to operational excellence.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities or new office locations reflects your flexibility within dynamic environments.
  • A collaborative approach fosters teamwork within a diverse group spanning several countries.
