What you'll do:

As a Capital Actuary, you will be instrumental in driving the integration of an innovative Economic Model that is set to revolutionise our client's capital management strategy. You will have the opportunity to shape the future direction of this initiative by providing critical analyses of capital requirements and their impact on key business decisions. Your contributions will not only enhance the team's capital modelling capabilities but also ensure that they remain at the forefront of industry innovation. By working collaboratively with your team, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening financial resilience through strategic business planning.

  • Actively contribute to enhancing the team's capital modelling and analysis capabilities, ensuring we stay at the forefront of innovation.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the Economic Model, contributing to its evolution, calibration, and effective operation.
  • Provide critical analyses of capital requirements and their impact on crucial business decisions, from reinsurance strategies to scenario modelling.
  • Play a key role in generating SCR (Solvency Capital Requirement) projections for business planning, supporting financial resilience.
  • Collaborate closely with your team to achieve shared objectives, furthering the development of financial risk and capital management capabilities.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Capital Actuary role will bring a wealth of experience in SII Standard Formula and capital model design. Your technical expertise will be crucial in building, parameterising and documenting capital metrics that inform strategic decision-making. Experience in SII and ORSA modelling will further enhance your ability to contribute effectively to the team's objectives. Your broad experience of actuarial work related to capital, gained within a general insurance company or consultancy, will be invaluable in this role. Knowledge of actuarial techniques, market practice, relevant legislation and the insurance market environment will enable you to stay abreast of emerging market developments.

  • Experience of SII Standard Formula is essential.
  • Technical experience of capital model design, build, parameterisation, documentation and production of capital metrics is required.
  • Ability to communicate complex capital metrics effectively to inform decision-making.
  • Experience of SII and ORSA modelling is desirable.
  • Strong and broad experience of actuarial work related to capital gained in a general insurance company or consultancy.
  • Knowledge of actuarial techniques, market practice, relevant legislation and insurance market environment; awareness of emerging market developments is beneficial.
  • Experience with capital modelling software (e.g., Tyche, Igloo, Remetrica etc.) is advantageous.
