Senior Actuarial Analyst

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Senior Actuarial Analyst to join a dynamic team. This role offers the chance to work within the Risk Practices division, enhancing the use of analytics across various technical product lines and projects. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage in client pricing work, build solutions using actuarial or data science techniques, and contribute to the development of apps supporting client risk management. This position is based in the vibrant city of London.

What you'll do:

As a Senior Actuarial Analyst, you will play an integral role in our Risk Practices division. You will be involved in a wide range of tasks including working closely with broking teams on client pricing work, building solutions for client questions or RFP’s using actuarial or data science techniques, and contributing to the creation of apps that support client risk management. Your expertise in catastrophe modelling using RMS and/or AIR will be invaluable in this role. You will also have the opportunity to write reports on analytical data and model outputs, providing crucial insights for commercial decision making.

  • Collaborate with Property broking teams to understand client needs and provide technical pricing input
  • Engage with Actuaries from Insurers to challenge their pricing assumptions, models and results
  • Review and update Property products and models as required
  • Build new pricing models and adapt existing ones
  • Undertake catastrophe modelling using RMS and/or AIR
  • Provide analytical model building support, such as Aggregate Loss Projections
  • Write reports on analytical data and model outputs to assist with commercial decision making
  • Provide actuarial and analytical support to business development opportunities and RFP requests
  • Support the development of new products, initiatives and sales materials

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Senior Actuarial Analyst role will bring a wealth of experience from General Insurance or Lloyd’s Market Insurance. Your background in Property or property related business lines will be highly beneficial. You will have demonstrated your ability to use RMS and/or AIR modelling effectively in previous roles. Your proficiency in using R and R Shiny combined with strong Excel skills will be crucial in this role. Your commitment to your professional development as a part qualified Actuary will be evident.

  • Part qualified Actuary with proven experience in General Insurance or Lloyd’s Market Insurance
  • Previous experience of working in Property or property related business lines
  • Proven ability to use RMS and/or AIR modelling
  • Proven experience of using R and R Shiny combined with strong Excel skills
