Tax Accountant

Our client, a leading retail business in Manchester, is seeking a Tax Accountant to join their dynamic finance team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an ACA-qualified professional to take charge of the Group's external reporting, including audit and tax (corporation tax and VAT). As the company enters its second year of a new strategic plan, this role will be instrumental in enhancing audit, VAT, and other external processes.

What you'll do:

As a Tax Accountant, your primary responsibility will be to manage all aspects of the Group's external reporting. You will lead the annual audit process, ensuring accurate and timely information is supplied to auditors. Your role will also involve managing corporation tax and overseeing quarterly VAT returns across the Group. Additionally, you will handle complex accounting aspects such as ensuring IFRS16 compliance.

• Lead the day-to-day annual audit process

• Assist in the upcoming restructuring and streamlining projects
• Link into wider management accounts team with month end processes

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Tax Accountant position is an ACA-qualified professional with strong analytical skills and experience in managing audits. You should have experience with VAT and corporation tax returns and possess advanced level proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Your ability to influence and challenge effectively will be crucial in this role. Excellent team leadership skills are also essential as you'll be working closely with various teams within the organisation.
