Assistant Management Accountant

Assistant Management Accountant Near-Salford - based on-site Up to £39,000 DOE - study support offered! I am delighted to be exclusively partnered with this retail company as they seek an Assistant Management Accountant to join their impressive finance function. This is an exciting, growing organisation. Please note this role will be based on-site - in beautiful, vibrant offices. Flexi-hours are promoted.

This role will support the Financial Controller and Finance Manager with the production of monthly management accounts, weekly forecasts and KPI reports to help inform management and enhance overall business performance.

You will be exposed to some really high-performing individuals and gain valuable experience.

Key Duties:

• Assist in the production of management accounts including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow along with variance analysis and commentary against Budget/Reforecasts
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Posting of journals (e.g. accruals prepayments)
• Review posting of purchase invoices to ensure correct nominal coding
• Assist with the preparation of quarterly VAT returns
• Support the completion of finance related projects and process improvements
• Produce reports and data analysis as required by the business
• Contribute to annual budgeting and planning process
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations
• Work closely with the Financial Controller and Finance Manager on the year end statutory accounts, audit and tax queries
• Review accounting processes and practices to improve the efficiency of the finance function

About You:

• Studying for a recognised accountancy qualification; AAT, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
• Experience within a Management Accounts team is required
• Excellent Excel skills to include pivot tables, look-ups etc.
• The ability to partner with various departments in the company
