A well-established and growing organisation is looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join its expanding finance team in the Warrington area. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in supporting core accounting and reporting activities while gaining exposure to a wide range of finance processes within a collaborative and supportive environment.

You’ll contribute to accurate and timely financial reporting, support month-end activities, and help improve processes as the finance function continues to evolve. What you’ll do

In this role, you’ll support day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close activities across multiple entities. You’ll work closely with the wider finance team to ensure financial information is accurate, compliant, and delivered on time.

  • Assist with Management Accounts month-end close processes
  • Prepare and post journals, including accruals, prepayments, and intercompany entries
  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies
  • Support audit and statutory reporting activities by preparing schedules and responding to queries
  • Process intercompany transactions and assist with group reporting and consolidations
  • Help prepare trial balances and contribute to management and financial reporting
  • Follow internal controls, policies, and accounting procedures
  • Support documentation, process improvements, and efficiency initiatives
  • Collaborate with colleagues across finance and other departments to resolve queries and share information

What you’ll bring

  • Part-qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) or actively studying
  • Experience supporting month-end processes and account reconciliations
  • Good understanding of core financial accounting principles
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with data
  • A proactive, organised approach with good attention to detail
  • Comfortable working collaboratively within a team environment
  • An interest in continuous improvement and developing new skills
