Financial Control Specialist (12 Month FTC)

A leading global organisation is seeking a Financial Control Specialist to join their busy Finance team. Responsibilities:

  • Review inter-company transactions, identify mismatches, and perform reconciliations in close partnership with the Financial Shared Service Centre (FSSC) and Finance Managers to resolve discrepancies efficiently.
  • Assist the Senior Finance Manager with detailed account analysis and comprehensive review of balance sheet reconciliations to ensure financial integrity.
  • Support month-end reporting processes by providing accurate and timely financial information that informs data-driven decision-making across the business.
  • Collaborate with FSSC colleagues to maintain efficient operational accounting processes and facilitate smooth data flow; actively support transitions when required.
  • Contribute to statutory audit processes by assisting with data analysis, responding to external auditor queries, and preparing relevant documentation for submission.
  • Partner effectively with stakeholders across finance, supply chain operations, HR, procurement, and other functional areas to deliver agreed accounting services satisfactorily.
  • Proactively identify financial risks and opportunities, proposing measures to enhance governance, controls, and overall financial performance within the entity.
  • Participate in projects as needed and undertake any reasonable tasks assigned by senior management to support business objectives.
  • Deputise for the Senior Finance Manager when necessary, ensuring continuity in leadership and decision-making during absences.
  • Support monthly cash forecast preparation and assist in collecting, preparing, and uploading information for bi-annual budget rounds.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Finalist level of CIMA, ACCA or ACA is essential for this role as it demonstrates your technical expertise in accounting standards.
  • A degree or master’s in finance, accounting or comparable education provides a strong foundation for understanding complex financial concepts.
  • Significant post-qualification experience in business finance roles equips you with practical knowledge needed to excel in this position.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems e.g.Oracle or SAP.
  • Familiarity with Business Performance Improvement tools such as Power BI enables you to analyse data effectively for informed decision-making.
  • Advanced Excel skills are crucial for managing detailed reconciliations and producing insightful reports.
  • Exceptional analytical abilities paired with attention to detail allow you to identify discrepancies quickly while maintaining accuracy.
  • A strong sense of integrity and responsibility ensures you uphold ethical standards in all aspects of your work.
  • Ability to work well under pressure means you can meet tight deadlines without compromising quality or accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills enable you to collaborate effectively across diverse teams both locally and internationally.
