Assistant Management Accountant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Management Accountant to join a dynamic finance team in Blackburn. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accurate preparation of financial transactions, supporting management accounts, and providing stakeholders with high-quality financial information. What You'll do:

• Assist in the preparation of balance sheets, profit & loss accounts, and other key financial reports.
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Ensure payments to suppliers are processed on time and supplier accounts are reconciled.
• Help prepare tax returns, including VAT and other relevant filings.
• Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure accurate inventory and WIP valuation.
• Verify and reconcile stock, ensuring accurate valuations and addressing any discrepancies.
• Work closely with the Stock team to ensure system-to-floor checks, quarantine movement authorisations, and inventory audits are completed in line with company policies.
• Assist in the timely closing of accounts and preparation for audits.

What you bring:

• AAT Level 4 (or equivalent) qualification is required.
• Previous experience as an Assistant Management Accountant is essential.
• Experience within manufacturing, FMCG or similar industry would be beneficial.
• Strong stock experience is essential.
• Strong working knowledge of ERP systems is necessary.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
• Ability to analyse complex data is crucial.
• Excellent time management skills are needed.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills are essential.
