The business offers a great opportunity to learn and for the successful person to develop themselves and become a long-term mainstay in their team. The team is close-knit with a and everyone gets along with each other in a collaborative environment. This role is permanent and will be reporting into one of the Finance Managers who is keen to bring in someone with a work hard play hard mindset who has a similar passion for finance as they do. You will be expected to assist the Finance team with AP, AR, high volume Reconciliations, and taking ownership of payroll procedures.
Duties for the Senior Finance Assistant:
- Raising sales invoices and accurately recording them on the system.
- Reviewing, approving, and processing purchase invoices, ensuring all relevant information is correct.
- Completing daily bank reconciliations for 4 different bank accounts.
- Processing payroll and submitting to the payment run.
- Dealing with a variety of currencies on both sides of the ledger.
- Providing finance reports/documentation to support the finance team and other internal stakeholders.
- You will also assist the Finance Manager with ad hoc reporting requests and accounting process improvement projects.
To be considered successful, the ideal candidate must:
- Have a proven background within a similar role and understand basic double-entry bookkeeping principles.
- Ideally studying towards AAT.
- Have excellent communication skills.
- Have strong interpersonal skills.
- Be able to work in a team.
- Strong Excel skills.
This Senior Finance Assistant role is based in St. Albans and the salary is £27,500 - £29,000 + £1,000 bonus and company specific benefits.
