Contract Accountant

Liverpool City Centre - Hybrid Working

Supporting the Contract Accounting Manager, key responsibilities include:

•Ensure forecasts are accurate and reflective of actual activity expected in the period
•Collating and distributing the final forecast to Operational Management and the Board
•Support monthly P&L reviews with operations, utilising the suite of financial and KPI reports available.
•Supporting other Finance functions with the preparation of periodic and longer term forecasts and annual budgets, developing relationships with specific cost centre managers to facilitate an effective service to Operations.
•Assist with the assessment and implementation of new contracts from a revenue perspective, ensuring that the appropriate accounting treatments are implemented.
•Providing analytical information & business partnering to the operational management teams to allow them to fully understand revenue and supply chain costs within their contracts, (assessing the financial implications of their actions).
•Contribute to the ongoing evaluation of revenue recognition policies in line with agreed company accounting procedures.
•Responsible for the production of the weekly income forecasts to operational management, ensuring the information provided accurately reflects the expected performance of the business.
•Reviewing the income and costs, challenging any variances to forecast
•Detailed analysis of any periodic variances to forecast
•Review of balance sheet reconciliations
•Update the weekly forecast and distribute to the operational management for their review and comment.

Key requirements:
•Qualified accountant (preferably CIMA or ACCA), preceded by a strong academic record.
•Previous experience in a fast moving, high volume, multisite environment
•Experience in preparation of monthly revenue accounts at a detailed level of accruals and prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations, KPI preparation and interpretation and forecasting.
•Demonstrable experience of working in a fast paced, changing finance environment and driving through change
•Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
•Good accounting systems knowledge, with in-depth exposure to systems such as Oracle, SAP, CODA.
•Ability to influence and support colleagues towards achieving business objectives.
