My client, a leading UK-wide construction company in Manchester, are looking to hire a commercially savvy Finance Business Partner.

This opportunity offers you the chance to work within a knowledgeable and supportive finance team that is currently embracing positive change through new systems and structures. You will be empowered to make a real impact by partnering with development and project management teams, contributing to both commercial decision-making and statutory reporting.

The organisation is committed to creating sustainable communities through collaboration and shared expertise, providing you with exposure to complex property development projects and the chance to grow your career in a nurturing environment.

Flexible working opportunities, ongoing training, and a culture of communal achievement make this role ideal for someone who values teamwork, professional growth, and making a difference.

What you'll do:

As a Finance Business Partner based in Manchester, you will play an integral role in delivering commercial finance support across diverse property development schemes.

  • Collaborate with the Development Management and Project Management teams to facilitate the preparation of monthly scheme review papers that inform key business decisions.
  • Prepare annual budgets and forecasts in partnership with colleagues, ensuring accuracy and clarity for effective financial planning across multiple projects.
  • Upload forecast information into newly implemented systems such as Anaplan, supporting the transition to enhanced forecasting and budgeting capabilities.
  • Generate management accounts and financial reports that support group reporting requirements as well as statutory obligations.
  • Prepare detailed cash flow forecasts for various property development projects, reconciling actuals against accounting system data for robust financial oversight.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual statutory accounts and coordinate with external auditors during audit processes to ensure compliance and transparency.
  • Adhere strictly to contractual deadlines when providing financial information to partners, maintaining trust and reliability in all communications.
  • Oversee monthly loan drawdowns while monitoring joint ventures’ cash usage to promote efficient resource allocation across projects.
  • Support other members of the finance team by sharing expertise, ensuring timely delivery of work to high standards, and fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Participate in occasional travel to UK offices or site visits as needed to maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.

What you bring:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with at least two years’ industry experience demonstrating proven technical expertise in financial management.
  • Excellent communication skills enabling you to embed yourself within teams and build strong relationships with stakeholders across departments.
  • Commitment to delivering finance services at a consistently high standard while taking responsibility for outcomes under time pressure.
  • Exceptional attention to detail allowing you to format work concisely and present clear financial information for decision-makers.
  • Ability to convey complex financial data effectively through written reports as well as presentations at board meetings.
  • Strong time management skills ensuring timely delivery of work even when managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel supporting advanced analysis, modelling, and reporting tasks required by the role.
  • Cohesive team player who thrives in collaborative environments where mutual support leads to shared success.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training opportunities that enhance your technical skills and industry knowledge.
