Interim Management Accountant

Management Accountant 3-6month interim assignment Location: South Manchester Day Rate: 250 upwards

A well-established, international organisation within the medical technology/manufacturing sector is looking to appoint a Management Accountant to join its UK finance team.

This is a broad, hands-on role with ownership of the monthly management accounts and strong exposure to balance sheet control, reporting, and process improvement. The position suits someone who enjoys working in a structured environment, adding value beyond the numbers, and partnering closely with colleagues across finance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations

• Production of monthly management accounts, including P&L analysis and commentary

• Posting accruals, prepayments, and payroll journals

• Completion of monthly commentary files and quarterly reporting packs

• Bank reconciliations and maintenance of robust financial controls

• Supporting statutory accounts preparation and liaising with external auditors

• Identifying and implementing process and control improvements

• Ad hoc finance support as required by the business

Candidate Profile

• 2–5 years’ experience in a Management Accounting role

• Strong Excel capability

• Experience within a structured or regulated environment advantageous

• Proactive, detail-focused, and comfortable working to deadlines

• Collaborative team player with a positive, inquisitive mindset
