Management Accountant
This role offers an opportunity for a proactive Management Accountant to join a rapidly expanding company in it's field. Responsibilities include managing accounting processes, ensuring compliance, producing financial reports, and driving process improvements. Ideal candidates will be part-qualified ACCA/CIMA (or qualified by experience), possess strong analytical and Excel skills, and have a growth mindset with a commitment to learning in a dynamic environment.
Duties Include:
- Manage technical accounting processes including month-end close, reconciliations, and trial balance reviews.
- Lead year-end activities by preparing schedules/journals and delivering trial balances to external accountants.
- Review statutory accounts, corporation tax computations, R&D claims, and directors’ personal tax returns prepared by external accountants.
- Ensure compliance with filing obligations (e.g., HMRC and Companies House) for multiple entities within the organisation.
- Prepare, review, and submit quarterly VAT returns in a timely manner.
- Produce weekly and monthly performance reports at departmental and company levels.
- Conduct detailed variance analysis and investigations across various reporting areas.
- Perform ad-hoc commercial, operational, and financial analyses as needed.
- Build and maintain reporting tools for metrics such as sales performance, client profitability, commission tracking, and churn monitoring.
- Monitor progress on strategic initiatives (e.g., sales targets or publisher rebates) through key metric reporting.
- Maintain oversight of publisher agreements to ensure revenue accuracy and compliance with agreed terms.
- Support quarterly business reviews with publishers by preparing relevant data and reports.
- Analyse debtor/creditor ageing trends to identify risks or opportunities for improvement.
- Continuously enhance finance processes by designing automations or AI-enabled workflows to reduce manual effort.
- Drive improvements in data quality and reporting accuracy across finance operations.
- Track metrics such as debtor days, reconciliation timeliness, and reporting precision; produce dashboards highlighting risks or priorities for follow-up actions.
The Successful Candidate is:
- Part-qualified ACCA/CIMA (or qualified by experience), with ambition to progress further professionally.
- Advanced Excel skills are essential (experience handling large datasets; familiarity with Power Query or Power BI is advantageous).
- Proactive attitude with high energy levels; eager to learn new skills in a fast-paced environment.
