Senior Management Accountant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Management Accounrant to join a respected retail organisation based in Derby! This is an exceptional opportunity for you to contribute to a business that values quality, understated style, and a commitment to excellence across its global operations. You'll play a pivotal role in delivering accurate and timely financial information, supporting key business decisions, and driving continuous improvement within the finance function.

You will:

• Oversee the monthly closing process by managing key balance sheet accounts such as stock, provisions, intercompany transactions, and accruals to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare weekly payroll entries, post them accurately, and reconcile control accounts for all payrolls to maintain precise records.
• Supervise cash reconciliations across multiple currencies and channels, ensuring all transactions are correctly accounted for.
• Produce comprehensive monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all entities, identifying potential risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare detailed monthly management accounts including profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for four trading entities.
• Maintain IFRS 16 lease accounting schedules and post monthly entries to ensure compliance with reporting standards.

This is predominantly site based role, with flex to work 1 day a week from home. Your proximity to their operations, product teams, and leadership allows you to influence decision-making in real-time, understand the full life cycle of their products, and play a key role in maintaining their commitment to quality, sustainability, and growth.

You'll be/have:

• Fully qualified (ACCA/CIMA) and demonstrable experience working within commercial finance teams where you have contributed to business success through accurate reporting and insightful analysis.
• A background in retail, ecommerce, multi site organisations or businesses with multiple sales channels, and exposure to complex operational environments.
• Well versed in reducing reporting timelines, and been through change management.
• Show proficiency in applying financial accounting principles and reporting standards within multi-entity environments.
• Exhibit strong analytical skills combined with problem-solving abilities that enable you to interpret data accurately and offer actionable insights.
• Communicate complex financial information clearly both verbally and in writing so it can be understood by non-finance colleagues across different departments.
