As Senior Management Accountant, you will immerse yourself in every aspect of the finance function—leading both internal colleagues and outsourced partners towards shared success. Your day-to-day activities will involve not only preparing robust management accounts but also providing insightful analysis that shapes strategic direction. You will champion best practices in financial reporting while nurturing talent within your team through coaching, mentoring, and clear communication.

To excel as Senior Management Accountant in this thriving group you will bring proven experience from similar roles where you have managed both people and processes with empathy and professionalism. Your background should include substantial exposure to preparing management accounts alongside leading teams—both internally based colleagues as well as outsourced providers—ensuring everyone works together harmoniously towards shared goals. You will possess excellent analytical abilities allowing you to interpret complex data sets into meaningful insights that drive business performance. Your communication skills must be second-to-none; you’ll need them when liaising with non-finance stakeholders or presenting findings at board level. A keen eye for detail combined with an aptitude for process improvement means you’re always looking for ways to enhance efficiency without compromising quality. Above all else your collaborative spirit ensures you build positive relationships across departments while upholding the highest standards of integrity in everything you do.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams is essential for effective data analysis and presentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, lead, develop, and coach both internal teams and outsourced partners within a finance environment.
  • Full UK valid driver’s licence required for occasional travel between sites or meetings as necessary.
  • Proven experience managing finance teams with at least three years’ hands-on involvement in mentoring staff members towards professional growth.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of management accounts processes including investigating variances and providing actionable insights that inform business strategy.
  • Track record of identifying inefficiencies within financial processes coupled with implementing practical improvements that enhance overall performance.
  • Ability to work on own initiative by prioritising tasks effectively under pressure while supporting wider finance team objectives.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills enabling you to collaborate seamlessly with non-finance stakeholders as well as communicate complex financial information clearly to senior leadership.
  • Minimum three years’ experience working closely with business stakeholders or external parties such as auditors or consultants within a similar capacity.
  • Fully qualified accountant status (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) demonstrating technical competence across all areas of management accounting.
