Management Accountant

Job Title: Management Accountant Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 DOE Location: Birmingham

Robert Walters are currently supporting a European Leading business based in Birmingham in their recruitment of a Management Accountant on a permanent basis.

Key Responsibilities of Management Accountant:

• Prepare monthly management accounts, including KPI reporting and tailored insights for senior leadership.
• Lead group-level financial reporting activities, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
• Maintain the integrity of the balance sheet and ensure all reconciliations are up to date.
• Coordinate and support the year-end audit process.
• Manage VAT return preparation and submission.
• Maintain fixed asset and stock registers.
• Identify and implement improvements in financial reporting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal controls, recommending enhancements where appropriate.
• Produce weekly cash flow forecasts and manage inter-company reconciliations.
• Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, highlighting key variances and opportunities for improvement.
• Support the Financial Controller and Finance Director with ad hoc finance tasks.

The Successful Candidate will have the following:

• Actively working towards a relevant qualification in accounting or finance or willingness to start studying (e.g. AAT, ACCA, CIMA).
• 1–2 years’ experience in management accounting within a large, complex organisation.
• Strong background in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Ambitious and eager to grow professionally, with a proactive mindset.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Advanced Excel skills, confident working with large datasets and inter-company accounting.
• A collaborative team player with strong communication skills.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and compliance standards.
