An international manufacturing company is seeking a Management Accountant to join their growing finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced accountant with a manufacturing background to play a pivotal role in driving financial performance and supporting operational excellence. The successful candidate will enjoy a competitive salary of £45,000 - £55,000, based on experience, and the chance to work in the vibrant city of Salford.

What you'll do:

As a Management Accountant, your role will be a blend of hands-on financial accounting, cost analysis, and strategic business partnering. You will be instrumental in supporting data-driven decision-making across the business. Your responsibilities will include analysing manufacturing costs, conducting inventory valuations, preparing monthly journals, leading budgeting processes, and partnering with various departments. Your expertise will contribute significantly to our financial planning and performance improvement.

  • Analyse and monitor manufacturing costs and variances to ensure accurate product costing.
  • Conduct regular inventory valuations and ensure appropriate accounting for stock movements.
  • Collaborate with production teams to review standard costs and identify opportunities for cost optimisation.
  • Prepare and process monthly journals.
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and maintain audit-ready documentation.
  • Lead and support the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes for manufacturing operations.
  • Conduct variance analysis between actual and budgeted figures, providing actionable insights to control costs.
  • Partner with stakeholders across operations, supply chain, and logistics to support financial planning and performance improvement.

What you bring:

The ideal Management Accountant candidate brings proven experience from a similar role within the manufacturing sector. You possess a strong understanding of standard costing, inventory management, and production finance. Your advanced Excel skills are complemented by your confidence in working with ERP systems. As an analytical thinker with excellent attention to detail, you can effectively communicate complex financial data to both finance and non-finance stakeholders. A CIMA, ACCA or equivalent qualification is required.

  • Proven experience in a manufacturing accounting role.
  • Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory management, and production finance.
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with ERP systems.
  • Highly analytical with excellent attention to detail.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to present financial data clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification.
