Financial Controller

Robert Walters have partnered with a global service based organisation, who are seeking an ambitious Financial Controller to take the lead on accounting, tax, and compliance activities across two major UK, and 2 international entities. This is a technically focussed role within an established but growing, offering the opportunity to shape processes, develop a small team, and support the business through its ambitious growth journey.

Financial Reporting & Accounting

  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close and prepare financial statements to IFRS and Group standards.
  • Report financial performance and coordinate with the International Financial Controller.
  • Maintain a strong internal control environment and drive process improvements.

Compliance, Tax & Audit

  • Ensure compliance with UK GAAP, IFRS, Companies House, government reporting and regulatory requirements.
  • Support tax filings and audits, liaising with external advisors and auditors.
  • Monitor and implement regulatory and accounting standard changes.

Internal Controls

  • Ensure adherence to group authority policies.
  • Review credit card expenses, manage capex controls, and approve new client setups and credit limits.

Business Partnering & Performance Analysis

  • Work with the Senior Finance Business Partner to align financials with operational results.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and performance reviews.
  • Provide insight, challenge assumptions, and deliver actionable analysis to management.

M&A Integration

  • Support integration of acquisitions into group reporting systems and processes.
  • Standardise systems, controls, and financial practices across newly acquired entities.

Experience and qualifications:

  • Professional Qualification: ACA , CA or ACCA qualified is essential.
  • Experience: Background in Big 4 or medium-sized UK accounting practice.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of accounting, reporting, internal controls.
  • Pre-existing knowledge of ERP systems would be advantageous.
  • Mindset: Proactive, hands-on problem solver with excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
