Controls Accountant

~~Robert Walters – Controls Accountant – Permanent – Hybrid – Birmingham – £55,000–£65,000 per annum~~ Our client is seeking a Controls Accountant to strengthen its internal control framework and drive continuous business improvement. This role is ideal for professionals with experience in audit, finance, or risk who enjoy problem-solving, process optimisation, and collaborating across teams to enhance governance and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate the effectiveness of existing controls and recommend practical enhancements
• Support the implementation of new or updated controls across finance and operations
• Perform control testing and maintain accurate records of outcomes
• Collaborate with finance, audit, and operational teams
• Contribute to strengthening governance, compliance, and financial integrity across the organisation
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency

About You

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
• Strong background in audit, internal controls, or risk management
• Excellent communication and influencing skills at all levels
