Group Financial Accountant

A leading UK retail and e-commerce business is looking for a Group Financial Accountant to join its finance team. 6 Month Contract Manchester City Centre 3 days on site 60-70k / Day Rate Equivalent

Group Financial Accountant:

This role supports the Group Reporting Manager across statutory reporting and leads on key technical areas, including DB Pension Accounting, Share Options, and Fixed/Intangible Assets.

3-6Month Contract

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee fixed and intangible assets accounting, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Provide technical accounting guidance on tangible/intangible assets and IFRS 16 lease accounting.
• Lead monthly forums with key stakeholders, offering technical insights.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for responsible areas.
• Own balance sheet control, ensuring accuracy and identifying risks.
• Lead audit processes for key areas, including producing judgement papers.
• Draft statutory financial statements and support regulatory reporting (ONS, FCA).
• Continuously improve financial systems, controls, and reporting processes.

The Ideal Candidate:

• ACA / ACCA / CIMA with a strong technical audit background.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS 16 and accounting for assets (especially IT-based projects).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
• Strong Excel and analytical skills.
• Experience with Oracle Fusion is a plus but not essential.
