The role focuses on programme financial management for the Centres of Excellence and oversight of Functional Finances. You’ll work closely with Programme Finance and Project Management to deliver accurate reporting, clear financial insight and strong control across long-term contracts and operational budgets.

Overview
A leading organisation within a secure, regulated industry is looking for a Finance Business Partner to support its Operations Finance function. The role covers programme finance for Centres of Excellence as well as oversight of Functional Finances. You’ll work closely with programme, project and operational teams to provide accurate financial information, maintain strong controls and support decision making.

The Operations Finance team is small but works with a wide range of stakeholders, giving you exposure to complex programmes and senior leaders. The environment suits someone who enjoys partnering, problem solving and improving financial processes.

Key Responsibilities
• Act as a business partner to Centres of Excellence, monitoring KPIs, analysing performance and identifying risks and opportunities.
• Manage long-term contract finances, including preparing EACs twice a year, revenue and margin trading, compliance with IFRS15, intercompany trading, cash control and FX.
• Lead and support monthly project reviews. Review actuals, challenge assumptions and explain movements from previous periods.
• Coordinate budget cycles, quarterly forecasts and long-term planning for allocated programmes.
• Produce functional reporting for operational leaders, covering headcount, non-payroll costs, capital expenditure and other operational spend.
• Support functional planning and budgeting activities.
• Maintain relationships with international colleagues to ensure consistent reporting and control across intercompany programme activity.
• Assist the Operations Finance Manager with day-to-day responsibilities and deputise where required.
• Support business improvements, contribute to process changes and help test new financial systems and tools.

What You’ll Need
• Qualified or finalist accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Experience with financial period close processes and long-term contract accounting
• Confident Excel user with strong data handling ability
• Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across finance and non-finance while maintaining objectivity
• Experience with enterprise systems such as SAP, BPC or SAC is useful
