Save job

My client, a fast-growing and highly successful PE-backed group, are looking to hire a commercially savvy FP&A Manager to join their head office in Cheshire.

This is an exceptional opportunity for you to play a pivotal role in shaping the financial future of a private equity-backed group with ambitious growth plans, currently operating across the UK and Europe.

You will be at the heart of driving accountability, supporting operational businesses, and guiding a talented team of accountants through critical forecasting and budgeting cycles.

If you are looking for a role where your expertise will directly influence strategic decisions and where you can grow alongside a knowledgeable and supportive team, this position offers the perfect platform for your next career move.

What you'll do:

  • Guide and support operational businesses as well as a dedicated team of accountants throughout the annual forecasting and budgeting process, ensuring clarity and accountability at every stage.
  • Organise and facilitate the annual Budget Day event, consolidating submissions from various departments while providing thoughtful review and constructive feedback.
  • Conduct scenario analysis for mergers and acquisitions activity, presenting clear Board summaries that inform strategic decision-making.
  • Establish robust forecasting processes to produce regular financial forecasts that underpin business planning and investment decisions.
  • Review and challenge business pipelines to create consolidated pipeline analyses that drive operational efficiency.
  • Produce weekly rolling cash forecasts to optimise cash management and maximise funds available for investment across the group.
  • Monitor financial covenants diligently to ensure compliance with funding agreements and organisational policies.
  • Calculate earn-outs accurately for acquisitions, supporting pricing reviews and contract profitability analysis to enhance commercial outcomes.
  • Deliver ad-hoc financial analysis as required by senior management, including project work such as consolidation of banking relationships or credit card providers.
  • Act as a key contact for funding providers while supporting M&A activity, systems implementation, onboarding new acquisitions into FP&A processes, and promoting best practice throughout the group.

What you bring:

  • Accounting qualification (CIMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent) is essential for this role to ensure technical proficiency in all aspects of financial planning and analysis.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in a similar FP&A or finance management position within a fast-paced environment is required to demonstrate your dependability under pressure.
  • Experience in a private equity environment (or similar) is essential for this position.
  • Proven track record in guiding teams through complex forecasting cycles while nurturing professional development among colleagues is highly valued.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills are necessary for building trust-based relationships with operational teams, accountants, funding providers, and senior management alike.
  • Advanced analytical abilities are needed for scenario modelling related to mergers & acquisitions as well as contract profitability assessments.
  • Experience in establishing forecasting processes that produce regular updates is important for maintaining organisational agility.
  • Demonstrated competence in cash management strategies aimed at maximising operational funds available for investment is expected.
  • Ability to monitor covenants meticulously ensures compliance with funding agreements while safeguarding organisational interests.
  • Familiarity with systems implementation projects or onboarding new acquisitions into FP&A processes would be advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Commitment to promoting best practice around group policies reflects your alignment with communal values.
